Weiner Proposal 

Lakeland Civic Association makes the following requests to Leon N. Weiner and Associates (LNW)

Maintain on site low income rental opportunities for current residents by continuing to provide well maintained, safe,  and peaceful housing throughout the redevelopment process by appropriately staging work. 

Establish and maintain regular and effective communication with Lakelanders including tenants of Alden Berkley 

Activity support Lakeland’s Vision through decisions and activities of LNW and its entities.

Advocate for the realization of Lakeland’s Vision as opportunities are available.

With Lakeland Civic Association will establish and actively participate in a collaborative process for the design, programming, redevelopment, renovation or restructuring of all properties within the Lakeland community of College Park, MD.

Utilize the are west of Parkside Apartments, nearest Baltimore Avenue to site the proposed number of rental units.  

Step down density east of Parkside Apartments. 

Reestablish the homeownership element of the Alden Berkley Townhomes by developing the area east of Parkside Apartments as an innovative home ownership opportunity. 

This section must include the utilization of concepts commonly referred to as “middle housing” as well as other “outside of the box” models. 

Utilize environmentally friendly innovations in the projects.

The Lakeland Civic Association will work with LNW to  establish and actively participate in a collaborative process for the design, programming, redevelopment, renovation or restructuring of all properties within the Lakeland community of College Park, MD.

The Lakeland Civic Association will support zoning changes to facilitate agreed upon plans consistent with this agreement and the community’s established vision.
