Work starts next week on a mural featuring historic Lakeland images. Artist for the project are teen artists lead by local professionals. Among the mual crew are two young Lakelanders. The project is being undertaken by the College Park City – University Partnership along with Maryland- National Capital Park and Planning Commission, College Park Arts Exchange and the University of Maryland. This artwork will be on the walls of the pedestrian underpass of Baltimore Avenue at Lakeland Road on the pathway.

The area will have artistic lighting. That element of the project is complete. The ribbon cutting will be held soon.
