  • Lakeland Star Search 7 PM

During this evening with our host, Angie Bass youth who live work or play in Lakeland will showcase a wide variety talents . Auditions are scheduled for Thursday, August 28, 7 to 9 pm and Thursday, September 11, 6 pm to 7 pm at the College Park Community Center. Looney’s Pub is our corporate sponsor and will provide refreshments that evening.

Saturday, September 20, 2014

  • Cheerleading Workshop 10 until 2 PM

Youth ages 10 to 17 are invited to work with our coach and prepare for cheering during the evening’s basketball game. Lunch will be provided.

  • Family and Friends Gathering Noon until 5 PM

Meet new people and visit with friends and family. Bring your lunch to enjoy. Music and tables will be set and ready for your use.

  • Cypher of the Drums 2 to 4 PM

Gather to the beat of the drums as we take part in a the Cypher of the Drums with the leadership of master drummer, DavidFakunle. Bring your own drum or use those on site.

  • Lakeland Classic Basketball Game 5 PM

Lakeland All Stars v CP Dream Team with Lakeland’s own Cheerleaders

Lakeland Heritage Weekend is a cooperative effort, supported by members and friends of LCHP, The City of College Park, MNCPPC’s Xtreme Teens, .the churches of Lakeland, Looney’s Pub, Rita’s of College Park, Ottley Music School, Franklins of Hyattsville, and other community partners.
